Feel safer. Live more confidently. Learn useful skills for everyday life.
Recent surveys from across England reveal that overall, there is a major gender gap in perceived safety. Women of all ages feel significantly less safe than men. In 2025, women’s attitudes to personal safety in England highlight not only the challenges they face but also the chance for women and girls to make positive changes, use available support, live more freely, and reduce unnecessary fear.
We also know from the World Health Organisation that feeling safe is important for our good mental health while stigma discrimination and fear harm it. (WHO) PROWESS aims to empower women and girls with not only the knowledge and skills to live a safer life, but also the attitudes and confidence to overcome fear.
During this workshop you will discover how you think, feel and behave can make a difference to your personal safety and wellbeing. Delivered by expert, female only instructors, it will include practical tips and information to help you to build attitudes, skills and habits to enable you feel happier and safer in everyday life. It has been coproduced with input from women and girls, police and teachers and is delivered in women only safe space.
You will gain:
- Self confidence
- Competence in workable skills
- Tips and techniques to build health and wellbeing
- Knowledge and resources to make everyday life safer
